VETUS, a world leader in boating equipment, is facing a digital transformation. With an extensive network in 18 countries and an excellent reputation in the pleasure and small commercial shipping industry, VETUS is ready for a revamped online presence. Their goal: a website that reinforces the brand identity and provides a clear separation between commercial and private shipping products.

Challenge

Despite an impressive product offering developed by in-house engineers, VETUS’ online presentation was not distinctive enough. The website lacked a strong corporate look and feel and cutting-edge technologies to communicate VETUS’ unique brand experience. In addition, there was a need for better separation and presentation of products for both private and commercial shipping.

Solution

VETUS went through a Think Discovery process in which stakeholders such as management, marketing and supply chain Whole Brain were tested on the brand and online ambitions. The insights from the sessions and extensive technical research resulted in the new digital strategy and visual style for a revamped corporate website and web shop. The site emphasizes the brand experience of water sports, with extensive space for current issues, events and brand stories. “Creators of boat systems” became the central theme, positioning VETUS as a prominent player in the water sports industry. The site design included distinctive design elements inspired by the logo and maritime tools.

Impact

The new VETUS website offers an intuitive dealer locator and a rich knowledge center with essential documents, manuals and videos. This not only increases usability for customers, but also strengthens VETUS’ authority in search engines. An integrated digital asset management system ensures that all content remains current and relevant to all audiences. VETUS’ digital transformation puts the brand firmly at the helm of the modern water sports industry.
